The Healing Journey

Tuesday, 12 March 2019 22:40

As I write this article, the Lord is taking me on a healing journey. One that was unexpected. Here is the back story…I’ve been running from my destiny as a writer. Why? I feel inadequate. I feel like a fraud. I don’t see myself as interesting enough for anyone to listen to. These are called “limiting beliefs” (also known as Ungodly Beliefs). So how do we get from this to walking in healing and freedom? Let’s start with the truth of God’s word. This is the scripture the Lord gave me for 2019.

Psalm 126:4 (TPT) “Lord, do it again! Restore us to our former glory! May streams of your refreshing flow over us until our dry hearts are drenched again.”

The words former glory had me asking the Lord, “When was I not afraid of writing?” He reminded me that as a child, writing was an outlet of creating beauty of all the new discoveries I made from research and play.

So when did I become afraid? A memory from 6th grade comes to mind. My dad helped edit a research paper and I was proud. The teacher said that it was plagiarized and gave me a “C”. It crushed my heart and I never wanted to write with my heart again.

With tears running down my face, I ask the Lord, “Will you bring your streams of refreshing and revive my heart to write again?”

What is it you have allowed to run your life due to limiting beliefs? Take this scripture and ask Him to show your former glory and where it all changed. Then take a minute to journal His thoughts about you, where He wants to take you and How He wants to do it. Feel free to send me your written process so we can encourage each other on this journey!
