Four Essentials

One of the greatest gifts and challenges is learning to live wholeheartedly.  This means that we embrace healing and wholeness in every area of our lives —spiritually, physically, and emotionally.

I Thess. 5:23 (AMP) tells Believers, Now may the God of peace Himself sanctify you through and through [that is, separate you from profane and vulgar things, make you pure and whole and undamaged—consecrated to Him—set apart for His purpose]; and may your spirit and soul and body be kept complete and [be found] blameless at the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ.

Wholeheartedness allows us to fully live out our spiritual identity in Christ as we find purpose and meaning in the presence of each moment with our eyes on the future prize.  Here are a few ways to embrace wholehearted living this year and increase His presence and power in every moment of your life.

Tip #1 — Begin the day with prayer —Center yourself on who God is, welcome His presence into your day.  Surrender your agenda to Him.  Ask for His will to be done. Breathe in His peace.

Tip #2 —Check in with yourself throughout the day —Grow in your awareness of what you are feeling as you walk through your day.  Notice why you are feeling what you are feeling.  Being in tune with our emotions is vital to remaining centered as well as learning how to talk with God through our emotions so that we can make wise decisions and stay on track throughout the day.

Tip #3 — Breathe — Many of us go through our days holding our breath under the weight of stress and responsibility. The stress builds in our muscles and can make it hard to calm our mind and our heart.  Breathe slowly.  Exhale.

Tip #4 — Keep a gratitude journal — At the end of the day, write a few things that happened throughout the day for which you can give thanks.  Even in difficult circumstances, when we can increase our gratitude, we increase our faith and our hope by allowing ourselves to notice God at work in us and around us in ways that we never could have noticed before.
